Christmas With The Princess

Uber-Cute kitty shot! Christmas was good this year... better than last year, at least. So far, the best part was playing with the Wii Fit and Link's Crossbow Challenge! Way too much fun.

The kitty was fairly subdued, due to the amount of people and noise around her. She prefered to sleeep through the festivities (on her throne). Although, I think that she has become acustomed to loud noises, and feels alright around them, because of the mechanics' shop where she was adopted from.

Victor Borge *FsssT PputT*

Yeah! So, I am really old on the inside... Victor Borge Rocks!

I've meant to watch some of these videos on youtube for so long... but I always forget about them when I'm on the site! It's a shame, really.

The period where he caressed her (just before the 3 minute mark)... it just seems so lewd... and for that fact alone, somehow, heightens the comedic aspect of it. Strange, that.

•* NERD ALERT! *•

Even though I do know that The Tales of Beedle the Bard is due out tomorrow, I can honestly say that I was, suprisingly, not too excited about its release. That is until I happened to walk into our huge cage at the blaws today... and saw this...

...that's when the squees bubbled up to the surface... now I have to buy it... especially at 40% off the cover price... does it seem terribly wrong that I am going to get a charity item at a lower price? *Conflicting thoughts about ripping off a charity... sigh*

Princess

The deal with her is that she was among a few kittens who were at a mechanics' garage. And, while bro-in-law was getting his truck taken care of the little people and sister fell for that one that, sadly, looked the healthiest. They took her home and for a trial period are taking care of her and testing the waters of the alergy pool with Hagrid. So far, so good. *fingers crossed* It's only been a couple of weeks, but she seems to be getting better, and her nose seem to be secreenting less fluid than the last time I saw her. Her eyes, I am told, are getting better too. Her third eyelid sort of creeps up her eye, and looks like it blocks some of her vision, but I don't know quite that much about cats yet... Only Time will tell... and I'll tell you in time.

Enjoying the Sun

She loves to sit on my dresser and people watch. Perfect today, as it was brilliantly sunny.

Royalty Among Us

The newest baby to the family, “Princess”
Found and taken in by my sister and family...
I don't know the entire story yet, but soon I will get the whole tale from Hagrid and Mini-Me...
...about the princess saved from certain death...

...and hopefully, I'll get some better pictures too! Preferably in daylight, with sunshine and the Rebel... not at night, with the Elph...

Angels And Demons

The stills that were released last week reminded me that... I can't wait to see this movie! And now a trailer too! Well a teaser... and boy does it tease!

“Analog Retirement”

Oi! monkEE!
If you should ever get this t-shirt...

you HAVE to put me down for one too!

Insomniac surfing lead me from link to link, and lo-and-behold, the awesomest cotton art that has ever applied to my life! Admittedly, being a Mac user, I had no use for floppies (only when Seneca made it necessary). But, all the rest is relevant! Especially the last... Kinda reminds me of this...

Ahhh, the good old days...

...how I miss them.

Markham Fair 08

A bit delayed with this post...
These are from my first trip to the Markham Fair. It was a beautiful Sunday after work.
And, might I add... It has been a spectacular summer for clouds.
The camel noticed me after a while...

... and, that sneaky elephant, knew it wasn't to go into the handlers' bag...
... and, quickly pulled its trunk away when the handler said its name in a stern tone...... and, last, but not least: the corn-diments... I only had butter on mine, but it was so good anyway!

Smacked Around By The Sister

Finally! Something more than that teaser!

What would he do without her? chEEse

Holy Crêpe!

First on the Québec breakfast list was a crêperie next to the Château Frontenac. Wasn't too bad. Sausages were interesting!

Last breakfast was in Montréal. This was amazing! The bowl of coffee was great, too!

This Café, my sister wanted me to take a picture of.

Camera Hands in Ottawa

These are not my hands. Thus, this is not my picture. I believe it was taken by Hagrid, as we were arriving in a rainy Ottawa. It is one of the smaller pictures I have on this Photoshopless computer, so any of my Rebel shots will be added later, once they are scaled down. What a cool shot though!

Countess Daru

http://locutus.ucr.edu/~cathy/artists/dav1.html

Ok... so, the backstory on this one is this...
OAC art: I was giving a presentation on some artists, and the teacher starts doing this pointy-wave thing,
and says, "You look like that picture!"
I was thinking, "LolYeahRight!"
Then she says, "Could you be related?"

I went to that art gallery when I went to New York with the art classes. I didn't see that painting though. I do remember that there is a pretty garden courtyard in the centre of the building. It had a glass roof, and was very lush and green.

So Ugly

It occurred to me, a month and a half after posting these pictures, that I have not explained the history of the ugly. Most will know this story.... but it's fun to repeat anyways.

Sharon's 20th birthday present was a harem of girls. *insert bizarre looks* Serena wanted to make him 2o girl cookies. I thought it was a great idea, and offered up my kitchen as the baking ground so that I could get in on the action.

What a humorous disaster!

First, because my oven had a mysterious warm spot that was not yet found, the cookies burned slightly on the bottom... in sooner baking time than what was called for in the recipe.

Second, I had no piping bag... or sandwich bags... so, naturally, waxed paper was used as the weapon of ugliness.

Then as we set in to make the different colours to uglify our girls, the consistency and thickness of our icing seemed to be working against us. As we attempted to give each girl a different personality, it quickly became evident that my lack of skill in icing preparation was sabotaging this undertaking. The icing ran towards where it was not supposed to. The melted chocolate did not want to co-operate, thus creating a uni-brow. But, it did co-operate with me when I decided to make these girls more like the ones that turn Sharon's head. I added highlights.

In the midst of this late night giggle fest, the waxed paper began to unravel, adding to the mess. The giggles increased to silent tear filled laughter.

The next day, when Serena came to box up the ugly wonders, the camera came out. We continued to giggle through or disgusted faces, and didn't stop until well after each girl was named and had an appropriate one liner associated with her name and appearance.

I took it just a bit further by creating a fictitious company to go along with the best disaster I ever had the privilege to be a part of....
